When Riley sees the backpack we use for his visits, he jumps up and down and runs to the car. As we drive into the parking space at the hospital, he lets out a happy howl, which is the same sound he makes when he arrives at the dog park. The howl means, “I get treats here, and I get to play!” Riley knows just what to do when he enters a patient’s room. He hops right on the bed and gets comfy. He loves to be petted and photographed and give high fives (a trick he learned at Love on 4 Paws).
