Our animals and pets are such a comfort to us and so many others. Bodhi, my lovable labradoodle, provides this every day. Being part of Love On 4 Paws greatly expanded her ability to enhance the lives of others. When she is out and about volunteering or socializing, it is amazing to see the smiles of people who approach her. When I go on vacation, I take Bodhi with me. It's fun to watch how many people approach us and ask to pet her. Those on vacation without their pets get their dog fix, while others just appreciate what dogs can do to make others happy.

Over the past few years, one of the remarkable things about Bodhi is that she has enabled a social worker at one of the hospitals to become less fearful of dogs. Yes, there are plenty of adults afraid of dogs! The first time she met Bodhi she had to stand behind a co-worker to reach out to touch Bodhi. Now the social worker looks forward to Bodhi's visits, and will even give her a treat. Not only are dogs good for patients, they also help to reduce stress for doctors and staff alike.

We appreciate being a part of Love On 4 Paws, because it gives us a chance to make so many individuals happy. I highly recommend that if you have the time and the right animal, please come experience the joy of helping others.
